ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applications need to be submitted at the Pretoria Embassy. Payments should be made either by postal order or Bank Garanteed Cheque payable to Ghana High Commission. Submission of Application may be made only during working hours. Monday -Thursday Submission – 09:00 – 12:00. VISA INFORMATION

  • The application forms must be filled in capital letters as stipulated.
  • Passport must be valid for at least six (6) months. All passports with less than six (6) months validity shall not be entertained.
  • Non-South Africans should provide evidence of legal residence in South Africa.
  • Four (4) duly-completed application forms and four (4) identical recent passport-size photographs.
  • Passports must bear signature of bearer.
  • Letter of invitation from person or institution in Ghana. Passport copy of the host in Ghana if Ghanaian: passport copy and proof of residence in Ghana for non-Ghanaians. Letter from present employer or educational institution confirming status.
  • If self-employed, particulars of business employment. Applicants should take note of numbers 3 & 7 on the application forms . Number 3 A&B are South African addresses and telephone numbers while number 7 requires  company names, address, contact telephone numbers and names of the reference in Ghana.
  • Applicants must present return of onward ticket.
  • Valid yellow fever vaccination card.
  • All completed forms must be duly signed and dated. Signature on application form must tally with applicant’s signature in the passport.
  • Individual payments must be made for each application. Collective payments are not acceptable.

  • Business Applications,​ Letter from employer in SA confirming position held, monthly salary, date of leave and date of expected return.
  • If self employed particulars of employment/business​. Business Applications​, Letter of invitation from the person/company in Ghana, and there must be two references from the inviting company in Ghana – with their names, surnames, email address and contact details. Copy of person signing the invitation ID, Passport or Residence permit, Full name, address & telephone numbers of host in Ghana. ​If not on a Ghana passport copy of the Ghana visa

EXPRESS VISAS HAVE BEEN SUSPENDED. VISAS THEREFORE, WILL BE GRANTED ONLY AFTER THREE WORKING DAYS (EXCLUDING THE DAY OF SUBMISSION). PLEASE NOTE THAT DELAYS OR REJECTION MAY OCCUR IN CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES.
