WHY WALES

Wales, with its stunning landscapes and vibrant culture, is a top destination for a memorable cottage holiday. The country’s scenery is nothing short of breathtaking, featuring everything from the towering peaks of Snowdon to tranquil lakes and pristine beaches. Whether you’re exploring the lush hills of the Brecon Beacons or hiking along the rugged coastline of Pembrokeshire, Wales offers a diverse range of natural beauty that appeals to outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.

The wildlife in Wales is equally impressive. From dragonflies and butterflies in the lakes and gardens to seals and dolphins along the coast, the country teems with life. A particularly remarkable experience is a visit to Skomer Island, where you can get up close to puffins and enjoy the island’s rich birdlife. This close contact with nature is a highlight of any visit, showcasing Wales’ commitment to preserving its unique fauna.  Read More

Wales is also a land rich in cultural heritage. The Welsh language, spoken by over one-fifth of the population, adds a unique charm to the country. You’ll hear it in rural areas, on road signs, and in various cultural events. The tradition of singing, whether in choirs or at festivals like the eisteddfod, reflects Wales’ deep musical roots.

Food and drink in Wales offer delightful surprises, too. The country is renowned for its cheeses, such as Caerphilly and Perl Las, and traditional dishes like Welsh rarebit and glamorgan sausages. Craft beer and local wines have also gained recognition, making Wales a destination for culinary exploration.

Moreover, Wales is a land of myths and legends. Tales from The Mabinogion and the folklore surrounding figures like Merlin and Arthur enhance the country’s magical atmosphere. Visitors can explore historical sites and enjoy the warmth and hospitality of the Welsh people, ensuring a rich and immersive experience. With so much to offer, Wales is a destination that promises adventure, culture, and natural beauty in equal measure.
