WHY GHANA
Energetic Ghana is a relatively small country positioned on the west coast of Africa bordering Côte d’Ivoire to the west, Burkina Faso to the north and Togo to the east. With sunshiny beaches, lush vegetation, coastal forts and vibrant cities Ghana is an un-licked cub with its whole life ahead of it. Heavily populated Accra is Ghana’s smallest region, but don’t be mistaken as this is where big things happen! It used to be an important Dutch port and the administrative capital for the British Gold Coast. Ghana has a market-based economy exporting mainly gold, oil and cocoa. Accra is a budding metropolis, and there are several shopping malls and numerous hip restaurants to tantalize your taste buds.
Furthermore, the city houses many cultural and historical sites, such as Read More
Shopping is plentiful and you can explore anything from arts, crafts and dusty artefacts to jewellery, textiles and clothing from all around Ghana and West Africa.
Now that you’ve worked up an appetite, Ghanaian cuisine introduces a lot of tropical produce like corn, beans, millet, plantains and cassava into their menu and popular dishes like Waakye, Banku and tilapia, Red-red and Tuo Zaafi can be sampled at the ‘chop bars’ available on every street corner.
Ghana’s nightlife will not leave you wanting, with buzzing DJ bars, cocktail bars, pubs and clubs to dance the night away or make your acquaintance with the friendly locals, there’s no chance of boredom in these lively establishments!
Accommodation is in abundance and of a good standard, a number of new and upmarket hotels are constantly opening their doors leaving you spoilt for choice. Ghanaians are well known for their pride and warm hospitality which is evident in their high level of service standards.
Getting around in Ghana could leave you jumbled, taxis are easily accessible from the street, but unmetered, so up your negotiation skills beforehand. Car hire is obtainable and it’s possible to hire a vehicle with a driver which is usually the more reliable route.
Ghana – Africa’s darling awaits!
