Notre-Dame and its multitude of mythical creatures have been towering over Paris since the 1950s. The Gargoyles together with an audacity of Chimera, Grotesques, Wyvern and Styrga have not only been keeping rainwater and evil spirits away from the Cathedral, but also inspired the book “the Hunch Back of Notre-Dame” which was allegedly written to bring attention to the then crumbling Cathedral to inspire a restoration.
