The Czech Republic is home to spectacular hiking trails, from peaceful forest paths to panoramic routes through the Krkonoše Mountains, which offer hikers breathtaking views. One, however, offers something a little more unexpected.
Near Husova bouda, above the mountain town of Pec pod Sněžkou, you’ll find the famous pivní budka (beer hut), a self-service stand pouring crisp Czech lager. Pour yourself a glass, leave your payment in the honesty box and continue on your way. It’s a refreshing surprise in the middle of the mountains.
The beer hut is a perfect reflection of Czech culture, where a love of the outdoors goes hand in hand with a love of great beer. After all, reaching the top is rewarding enough, but discovering a perfectly poured pint waiting along the trail makes the journey even more memorable. Cheers to that!
