It is only befitting that the Fly Geyser is found on privately owned land which belongs to the Burning Man Project. A project or event that epitomises self-expression and artistic exuberance. The geyser that was accidently created in 1916 when workers struck a geothermal source whilst drilling for water has been spewing hot water ever since. The water that is rich in silica is constantly creating a morphic structure with a glorious surrounding travertine pond and if the geyser was not beautiful enough, thermophilic algae have given the rocks magnificent hues of red and green.
