Tianmen Mountain must be the most exhilarating mountain in China. If you find the 7.455 kilometre cable car ride to the summit a little tame, you can always appreciate the magnificent views from one of the many open walkways that cling to the side of the mountain and if that does not take your breath away then one of three glass sky-ways should.
If heights are not your thing, you can always drive up to Heaven’s Door along a winding road that has 99 turns, giving those that brave the 999 stairs a spectacular view of the valley below.
